TEES method

T stands for Topic sentence. The topic sentence is the main idea of the paragraph. It is usually short and to the point. The topic sentence can mirror the question being asked.

E stands for Evidence. Evidence is information (or an example) that supports your topic sentence. It should include social studies or other vocabulary.

E stands for Expansion. Expand on your evidence with additional facts and details (time period, place, people, etc.). It provides the reader with more information about the topic. Try to include at least two extra pieces of information (examples) to support your evidence.

S stands for Summary sentence. The summary sentence wraps up your paragraph and shows a relationship between the topic sentence and the evidence.
