School Update 7/13 -- Noticias Escolares 7/13

Dear Mustang Families -

You received an important school update from Alliance CEO Dan Katzir earlier today. Mr. Katzir made the official announcement we have been waiting for: ACRMA12 will open virtually (online) on Aug. 12.

For my rising 7th and 8th graders, this will seem somewhat familiar. From March to June, we all participated in distance (online) learning, and students had English, Math, and Science as their core subjects. When virtual school begins in August, it will reflect a much more traditional approach, with students having all subjects and teachers offering "live" instruction during their class times.

Importantly, virtual school means teachers will be taking traditional attendance in their morning Advisory classes and students will be required to be online at certain times each school day (much as they would if they were physically at school). This stricter structure is necessary for us to help students accelerate their learning!

The school-parent partnership is even more important now! As always, I commit to offering a top-quality middle school educational experience to prepare students for high school and college. I will look for equally strong support from our school community to encourage our young students to be fully committed as well. This means excellent, on-time attendance and focused academic work in classrooms, even though classes are virtual.

School schedules will be sent out via ParentSquare in the next few weeks, information will be posted on our website, and we will be scheduling Town Hall meetings so we can talk about the future. The fact that we are busy scheduling classes for the 20-21 school year is hopeful and beautiful news in such a hard and uncertain time. This proves our children are our priority!

As a mother and a school leader, I am with you every step of the way. As always, we are stronger together.

Best regards,

Principal Robin Manly
